M.Tech - Mechanical Engineering PDEU

The Mechanical Engineering Department at PDEU offers two specializations for M.Tech - Mechanical Engineering: Thermal Engineering and Design and Manufacturing Technology.

Thermal Engineering is a specialization that focuses on the study of heat transfer, thermodynamics, fluid mechanics and energy systems. It covers topics such as heat exchangers, refrigeration and air conditioning, combustion and emissions, renewable energy and thermal management.

Design and Manufacturing Technology is a specialization that focuses on the study of product design, materials science, manufacturing processes and quality control. It covers topics such as CAD/CAM, finite element analysis, additive manufacturing, robotics and automation, metrology and inspection.

Both the specializations have a duration of two years (four semesters) and consist of core courses, elective courses, laboratory work and a dissertation project. The curriculum is designed to provide students with a strong foundation in the fundamentals of mechanical engineering as well as exposure to the latest trends and technologies in the field.

The M.Tech - Mechanical Engineering program at PDEU also offers students various opportunities for learning beyond the classroom. Some of these include:
