The Department of Pharmaceutical Science at MIT-WPU offers a wide range of specialised Masters programmes in Pharmacy for students who have completed their B. Pharmacy degree. These programmes provide students with training in specific areas of pharmacy and focus on hands-on, practical learning through a variety of projects and internships. In order to prepare students for careers in research, the programmes include modules on research methodology and tools and techniques in the pharmaceutical field, and encourage students to present their research at national and international conferences. M.Pharm (Pharmaceutics)
Pharmaceutics is a discipline within pharmacy that focuses on the development of formulations that are stable, safe, effective, and patient-complaint for new chemical entities (NCEs). The Master of Pharmacy in Pharmaceutics is a highly sought-after course that trains students in the design and formulation of dosages in labs. The programme covers a range of topics, including formulation, evaluation, and advances in novel drug delivery systems, preformulation studies, stability testing, sterilisation processes, packaging of dosage forms, industrial management, and good manufacturing practices (GMP). The curriculum of the programme also includes emerging areas such as the design and synthesis of nanocarriers, synthesis of cell-competent substrates, cell drug delivery, and more
