B.Tech Petrochemical Engineering is a 4-year program with an English medium of instruction that prepares students to harness fossil fuels, a vital natural resource, and contribute to the Indian oil industry. The program is based on an integrated approach to relevant basic sciences, engineering, and Oil & Gas industry technology operations. It emphasizes exploration, drilling, production, reservoir engineering, pipeline engineering, refinery operations, LNG value chain, petrochemicals, and gas processing.

With the petrochemical sector forming a significant part of our daily lives, the program provides students with knowledge of Olefin and Aromatic Production, Processing of Petrochemicals, Gas Processing Technologies, Artificial Intelligence in Petrochemical Industry, Transportation, and Marketing. The core areas of the program enable students to work in global-sized plants that not only meet local demands but also export to global markets.

The petroleum engineering program is designed to take students on a holistic journey of the entire value chain, starting from the exploration of hydrocarbons to the supply of petroleum products to end-users. The bifurcation of Upstream and Downstream is carried out at the end of the 2nd Year. The curriculum of PETROLEUM UPSTREAM includes Reservoir Engineering, Operation and Production Engineering, Drilling and Well Completion, Enhanced Oil Recovery, etc. PETROLEUM DOWNSTREAM covers Processing, Marketing and distribution of crude oil and natural gas & its by-products, Refining of petroleum crude, LNG value chain, Pipeline engineering, and more.

The program provides opportunities for credit exchange programs in which students can go to the UNIVERSITY OF OKLAHOMA (OU) for one semester and earn credit that will count towards their academic performance for that semester. Graduates of B.Tech Petrochemical Engineering and Petroleum Engineering have bright prospects in the petroleum industry, with the sector poised for unprecedented growth and unique opportunities.
